In this position, Mr Long will oversee the design and construction of the Western GeoPower Unit 1 power plant currently under development at The Geysers geothermal field in California and will provide technical support for Western GeoPower’s future development efforts in California and other regions.
According to Western GeoPower, Mr Long brings extensive geothermal project management experience to the company, both domestically and abroad. He spent over 15 years working for Power Engineers, where he held the position of manager of renewable energy projects. Since 2006, Power Engineers has been providing Western GeoPower with initial design and engineering support for the Unit 1 project and Mr Long was the project manager assigned by Power Engineers to the project.
