The company said that Rockingham residents will benefit from over A$9 million of investment by Western Power to improve power supplies and increase the amount of power being delivered to the region to meet the growing demand for power. The Waikiki substation is due for completion by mid-February 2008.

Marisa Chapman, spokesperson of Western Power, said that significant works to Houston and Ray Streets will increase the capacity and the flexibility of Western Power’s network.

Ms Chapman said: The new lines will enable Western Power to connection new homes, increase the amount of power delivered to the area and reconfigure lines to restore power more quickly to customers experiencing outages by redirecting power through different areas.
