Coupled with Westinghouse and Toshiba’s existing boiling water reactors (BWR) steam dryer analysis, repair, and design knowledge, the new partnership with Continuum Dynamics (CDI) will allow Westinghouse to provide a complete portfolio of steam dryer analysis, mitigation, repair and replacement options for boiling water reactors.

CDI provides engineering services and technical solutions for government and industry, mostly related to acoustic and flow analyses associated with the nuclear power and aerospace industries.

Nick Liparulo, vice president of Westinghouse engineering services, said: This is especially significant for us because the BWRVIP (Boiling Water Reactor Vessel and Internals Project), the industry users group focused on BWR vessel internals, has selected CDI’s technology as the standard for addressing acoustical analysis required to implement extended power uprates in a BWR plant.
