WEC Welding and Machining’s Carolina Energy Solutions (CES) will provide all machining and welding services for the project. CalEnergy is indirectly owned by MidAmerican Energy Holdings and TransAlta Corporation.

CES will provide orbital welding of 2507 Super Duplex stainless steel pipeline utilizing 686CPT Inconel filler material for the replacement of the customer’s existing carbon steel pipeline.

The pipeline, which is 14,000 feet in length, will require more than 600 welds. The project will last approximately four months, the company said.
