The Osage County Wind Energy Facility, which will be owned and operated by Wind Capital Group, is located West of Pawhuska.

Wind Capital Group CEO Ciaran O’Brien said the signing of the agreement is a major milestone in the development of the Osage County Wind Energy Facility.

Osage County Wind will provide over $30m in property tax revenues to Osage County, long-term lease payments to local landowners and $1.5m in regional business activity during its construction.

"With over 350 megawatts in power purchase agreements and an aggressive twelve month build schedule, Wind Capital Group is taking another significant step toward being one of the leading wind developers in the United States," O’Brien said.

Associated Electric manager Nancy Southworth said this will be the fifth project on which Wind Capital Group and Associated Electric have worked together.

Construction is expected to begin early this year and the project is expected to commence operations in June 2012.
