WindTamer has received an initial order for two WindTamer 8.0GT and one WindTamer 4.5GT turbines from the distributor, the company said.

Under the deal, UAB WindTamer Europe has the right to purchase, market, re-sell, assemble, install and otherwise distribute the Company’s products within the exclusive territories.

WindTamer Europe is a newly-formed entity which is not an affiliate of the company.

WindTamer CEO William Schmitz said although there have been plans to build a nuclear facility in Lithuania, a recent poll indicated that 88% of Lithuanians oppose the project and recent reports indicate that investor interest in building the plant has waned.

"In our discussions with potential European partners we are receiving indications that the recent moratoriums and re-thinking of nuclear power production may well result in rising electricity prices in Europe," Schmitz said.

"This prospect makes the value proposition of our wind turbines and other products, especially our Power on Demand system, even more compelling."

WindTamer is a developer and manufacturer of wind turbines and renewable energy power storage and management systems and a supplier of solar energy systems.
