The project uses federal grant to demonstrate renewable energy technologies. The turbines will be mounted on the southeast and northeast corners of the new three-story, 60ft tall addition.

All necessary permits from the city of Syracuse have been received. Each unit is expected to produce up to 3500kWh per year based on the available wind speed, and are scheduled to be installed and operational by September 2010.

William Schmitz, CEO of WindTamer, said: “We have completed the first sale of rooftop-mounted WindTamer turbines and the permitting process ran smoothly and quickly. We believe that Carousel Center and Destiny USA will be a great showcase for WindTamer and that consumer destinations and big-box retailers will be a significant market for us moving forward.”
