Together with its sister company Wood Group Mustang, Wood Group Kenny will work to complete the work that includes designing of concepts of the offshore surface facilities as well as scheduling and cost estimating for offshore pipeline and subsea facilities.

The company will also perform flow assurance modeling from the landfall to the aquifer sand face, while Wood Group Mustang will perform concept design of the offshore surface facilities including the jacket and topsides infrastructure.

National Grid Carbon CCS technical lead Russell Cooper said the project aims to assist the UK government to meet its obligation to cut carbon emissions by 20% by 2020.

The new project will allow Wood Group Kenny to expand its business beyond oil and gas, while using the subsea and pipeline engineering and project management capabilities.
