The Lingshui 17-2 gas development is located in the Qiongdongnan basin in the South China Sea. As part of the contract, which is effective immediately, Wood Group will provide subsea and flow assurance services from its offices in Perth, Australia and London.

Wood Group will also provide an independent review for the development’s subsea production system design. A special study and design for the gas export pipeline will also be delivered under the contract.

Recently, CNOOC has signed a production sharing contract (PSC) with SK Innovation for its Block 17/08, Pearl River Mouth Basin, in the South China Sea. The block area covers a total area of 466km2 at water depths between 100 and 130 meters.

As per the terms of the agreement, SK will act as the operator during the exploration period and will conduct exploration activities.

After entering the development phase, CNOOC will have the right to participate in up to 51% in participating interest in any commercial discoveries in the block.
