Under the two year-contract, Wood Group PSN will provide integrated operations and maintenance services to the platform, which is located approximately 100km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.

Wood Group CEO Robin Watson said: "We look forward to beginning this new partnership with PetroRio, where our focus will be on working collaboratively to deliver safe, efficient and effective services.

"Our experience operating in Brazil, alongside our strong history of supporting offshore assets across their life cycle in the North Sea, positions us well and we are committed to leveraging our knowledge and expertise to optimise the productivity of the Polvo A platform."

Wood Group Kenny earlier signed two contracts to provide integrity management support to the Polvo field. The recent contract was completed in early 2015.

Owned and operated by PetroRio, the field comprises a fixed production and drilling platform connected to a floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO).

Covering an area of approximately 134km2, the Polvo field license has several prospects with potential for further explorations..

In December 2015, Petrorio acquired Maersk’s 40% stake in the field, bringing its total stake in the field to 100%.
