Under the $10m contract, Wood Group GTS will restore the GT-1 unit, repair, re-install, and commission the refurbished gas turbine unit.
PWP general manager Phyllis Currie said, ”Refurbishment of our GT-1 unit will restore our local power plant to its fullest generating capacity, and that’s great news for our customers, who count on PWP for reliable power service.”
Wood Group will refurbish Pratt & Whitney FT-4 gas turbine generator, overhaul the gas generator, supply a refurbished power turbine and related ancillaries, and install equipment.
The nature of the work under the contract may also include upgrading the gas turbine control system and other related equipments.
The restoration and repair work is expected to start in August 2012 and take about seven months to complete.
