The updated contract, with expected revenue of GBP170m, replaces an earlier contract awarded by Agip KCO.

Under the new operating model agreed with the Kazakhstan government, North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC) was delegated as the operator under the North Caspian Sea Production Sharing Agreement (PSC), taking over the role formally held by Agip KCO. SDK, an NCOC designated agent company, is undertaking a unified onshore and offshore FEED for the development of Phase II of the Kashagan project.

The contract includes FEED work for both onshore and offshore facilities and pipelines. It also includes options for early works, detail engineering, procurement services, technical assistance and design/system integrity.

Work on the project began in November 2008 and is expected to be completed in 2011.

Shareholders in the joint venture company (K-WAC) are: WorleyParsons Europe (45%), Aker Engineering & Technology (30%) and CB&I (25%).
