The projects, located in the south of England and Wales, are all being developed by Grid Essence UK, a subsidiary of Cyprus-based Grid Essence Holdings.

Yingli Green Energy’s YGE Series modules will be installed at the solar projects.

Construction has already commenced on the projects and the modules are expected to be delivered between February and March 2014.

The solar projects, estimated to produce around 54,500MWh of green electricity per year, are scheduled for grid connection by first quarter of 2014.

Grid Essence co-founder and CEO Steve Bourbonnais said, "We are honored to cooperate with Yingli Green Energy on these projects, which are critical for us to achieve our renewable energy target within the next five years.

"By leveraging our track record of success in solar project development and combined with Yingli Solar’s great brand reputation, we are confident that this cooperation will bring us a sustainable growth."

Yingli Green Energy chairman and CEO Liansheng Miao said, "We are pleased to partner with Grid Essence on these projects while at the same time making a positive contribution to the burgeoning solar industry in the U.K."
