The order exclusively includes the supply and installation of 14 V136-4.2MW, five V136-3.6MW and eight V117-3.6 MW turbines. The details of customer and projects of the order are not disclosed.

Vestas Anti-Icing System is capable of minimizing ice formation on turbine blades for efficient energy production in cold climate. Few of the V136-4.2MW turbines are to be equipped with Vestas’ Anti-Icing System, to optimize the wind energy solution to the sites’ specific climatic conditions.

Apart from the supply and installation of the wind turbines, the contract also includes a 20-year Active Output Management 4000 service agreement.

Turbine delivery is planned for the second and third quarter of 2019 and expected to be commissioned by the third quarter of 2019.

Vestas said that it has installed approximately 1.4GW of wind turbines in Greece. This new order is anticipated strengthen the company’s position in the country with more than 50% of market share.

Recently, the company has secured an order to supply turbines for a 220MW wind farm in the US. As per the order, Vestas will supply 100 of its V120-2.2MW turbines for the wind project.

The order includes supply and commissioning of the turbines, with the deliver expected to begin in the third quarter of next year and the commissioning is scheduled for fourth quarter.

With this supply order, the company’s total order intake for this year has reached 10GW.
