Implico discusses pioneering solutions at IIoT and Digital Solutions for Oil & Gas conference in Amsterdam
Hamburg/Amsterdam. Artificial intelligence, blockchain, the Internet of Things: At the IIoT and Digital Solutions for Oil & Gas conference, which takes place 7 to 8 June in Amsterdam, everything revolves around future technologies in the oil and gas industry. Producers, processors and marketers will meet with digital solution providers to discuss current developments and best practices. At its stand, the international Implico Group will present modern IT solutions for automating the downstream business. Thomas Ernst, Managing Director of Implico, will also talk about the progress being made towards the transparent tank terminal.
More than 250 participants from 21 countries are expected to attend the second installment of this conference on digital oil and gas issues. The software and consulting company Implico will tell the expert audience how they can achieve the digital transformation with modern IT solutions designed specially for the oil and gas industry.
Implico has set the goal of creating a transparent tank terminal, or even a transparent supply chain. The downstream specialists are developing special software solutions and data services to achieve this goal. Their main focus is to move data sources on the operational level – such as meters and pumps – into the digital world, but also to tap entirely new sources of data. These can include mobile devices used by connected workers at the facility or by truck drivers. All of this Big Data is collected in databases, along with finance information from the ERP system if necessary, and evaluated using the latest analysis tools such as SAP Leonardo. This results in entirely new ways of looking at stocks and processes in the tank terminal, which in turn enable more precise forecasts and plans, optimized operational processes and better decisions on all levels.
Take the handheld solution used during petroleum loading at a tank terminal or refinery, for example. Employees on the grounds typically work offline because they are usually moving around the railway lines and do not have access to a PC workstation. Thanks to special software for handheld devices, which was developed by Implico, operational employees can now connect to the OpenTAS terminal management system at any time in order to enter data or access current information in real time. This digitalizes the process and eliminates the errors that can occur with manual data entry. Important information is thus available everywhere immediately.
Implico will also update the expert audience on cloud services – since the company offers all of its solutions also in the form of software-as-a-service from the cloud. This benefits oil and gas companies because they no longer need to set up their own IT department and do not have to worry about updates or server maintenance. Implico runs its solutions in its own data center – all the customer has to do is use them.
